Duhawks Top Pointers to Close Fidelity Bank & Trust Tip-Off Classic

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team moved to 2-0 this season after a 81-70 win over UW-Stevens Point on Saturday in game four of the 2017 Fidelity Bank & Trust Tip-Off Classic. For the second consecutive night, senior Addie Oberman led the Duhawks in scoring, finishing with 16.

• In the first meeting since 1983, Loras events the all-time series at 2-2

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Loras outscored UWSP 22-12 in the second quarter, aided by a 12-1 run, resulting in a 29-17 advantage
• The Pointers never quit in their bid for a comeback, but could only come as close as nine after a 16-6 run

TEAM NOTABLES
• Once again, Loras' bench out-performed its opponent, scoring 45 points to UWSP's 24
• The Duhawks held the lead for 37:05 of the game, never looking back after the 6:27 mark of the first quarter
• Loras is off to its sixth 2-0 start in last 11 seasons under head coach Justin Heinzen and third in last five seasons

• Oberman registered back-to-back games with 10 or more points for the third time in her Loras career
• Sophomore Macenzie Kraemer's 14 points doubled her previous career-high, set on Friday night against Carroll

FRIEDMAN GROUP PLAYER OF THE GAME - ADDIE OBERMAN
For the second time in as many games, Oberman led the Duhawks' scoring efforts, finishing with 16 points while adding three rebounds and three assists. In addition, Oberman was named to the Fidelity Bank & Trust All-Tip Off Classic Team as the weekend MVP.

FIDELITY BANK & TRUST ALL-TIP OFF CLASSIC TEAM
Joining Oberman was Kraemer who averaged 10.5 points per game in Loras' wins over Carroll and UWSP.

Loras heads to Wheaton on Tuesday for a non-conference tilt with the Thunder. Wheaton is receiving votes in the latest D3Hoops.com Poll and went 2-0 at its home tournament this weekend. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
