Duhawks Fall in Iowa Conference Opener

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team fell on the road to Coe, 64-54, in it's Iowa Conference season opener on Wednesday. Senior Lauren Stanich led the Duhawks offensively with nine points.

SERIES NOTABLES
• Loras leads the series 34-20 all time … First loss to the Kohawks since January 10, 2015 

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Coe began the game shooting 3-of-5 from beyond the arc in the first four minutes of play to take a 13-3 lead and force a Duhawk timeout
• After the Kohawks created a 15-point gap at 25-10, senior Lauren Stanich and freshman Marissa Schroeder cut the lead to 10 with a 5-0 Loras run
• Four different scorers for the Duhawks contributed to a 12-2 Loras run in the third quarter that pulled the Duhawks within 10 of Coe at 49-39
• The Kohawks put the game out of reach with an 11-3 run in the fourth quarter to extend its lead to 64-45

TEAM NOTABLES
• Loras saw scoring contributions from 12 different scorers on the night, with seven of those having five or more points
• The Duhawks turned Coe's 21 turnovers into 24 points
• Loras' 26.6 shooting percentage was the lowest of the season by 11 percent

INDIVIDUAL NOTABLES
• Senior Addie Oberman saw her scoring average drop from 16.0 points per game to 13.8 after being held to five points on Wednesday

• Stanich's nine points led the Duhawks on Wednesday as the senior finished 3-of-9 from the floor while adding two rebounds and an assist
