BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Duhawks.com) - Patrick Mikel became the fourth NCAA National Champion and first in the men's 400m on Saturday at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, winning with a time of 47.74.

- Mikel's preliminary time on Friday of 48.165 earned him the No. 3 seed in Saturday's final
- His time in the final was .18 off from the school record that he set last week at the Wartburg Qualifier (47.56)
- The sophomore ran the fastest opening split in the field at 22.539 and maintained his lead with a 25.197 split to close out the race
- Mikel ran in the first of two championship heats ... Three of the top four finishers came in the first heat
- His finish earned the Duhawks 10 team points
Men's 4x400 Relay | 6th | All-American | 3:16.14
- Loras earned the final spot in the 4x400 Finals at 3:18.01 on Friday
- In Saturday's final, the Duhawks solidified their All-American honors, finishing sixth with a time of 3:16.14

Anakin Hall ran 49.26 on the third leg before exchanging with Mikel for the anchor ... On Mike's anchor, he ran 47.48, solidifying Loras' sixth place finish
- The Duhawks recorded three team points as a result
Gabrielle Noland | 6th | All-American | 25.08
- Noland secured her first All-American honor, finishing sixth in the 200m
- Noland's time in the preliminary was second fastest at 24.76
- Similar to Mikel's 400m, the 200m was ran in two heats
- Her sixth-place finish earned Loras three team points
Women's High Jump | 9th | 1.65m
- Solis needed two attempts at 1.55m and 1.60m before clearing 1.65m on her first try
- She finished tied in height with Grace Bordsen of St. Thomas, but missed the podium due to Bordsen clearing 1.60m on her first attempt
Men | 9th | 18 points
As a team, Loras finished ninth at the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships, scoring 18 points. Ten points came from Mikel's title in the 400m, while
Mason Tope earned the Duhawks six points with his fourth-place finish in the men's 5k. The final three points came from the 4x400 relay.
