Diane Ballard Regan

  • Class
    1983
  • Induction
    1995
  • Sport(s)
    Swimming & Diving
  • In two appearances at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships, Regan earned All-American status in multiple events including the 100 and 200 backstroke and the 100 and 200 individual medley.
  • During the 1981-82 NAIA Championships she captured four all-American honors in five of the events she entered. And although she was the lone Loras representative, she scored enough points to lift the Duhawks to a 12th-place finish in the team standings.
  • In a sport where records are consistently broken every year, Regan still holds the four most enduring marks in the Loras record book. Her records in the 100 (1:05.32) and 200 (2:19.64) individual medley, 200 butterfly (2:30.8) and 500 freestyle (5:21.0) have yet to be broken by Loras swimmers.
  • In addition to her honors in the pool, she also helped establish another Loras tradition as a special assistant to the athletic director during the planning of the first Loras-hosted National Catholic Basketball Tournament in 1984.
