DUBUQUE, Iowa – Eight student-athletes from the Loras College men's and women's soccer teams have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization Tuesday.

On the men's side Bryan Basinger collected this honor for the second time in his career, while Dani Galiana Torres, Diego Rodriguez, and Owen Ivanuck earned the distinction for the first time.

Representing the women's program were Lauren Riggle, Reagan Lindsay, Karly Weiss, and Christina Salerno who all received the award for the first time in their careers.

The eight Duhawks are joined by 81 men's and women's soccer players across the other eight American Rivers Conference schools.

The first, second, and third-team Academic All-America selections will be revealed on Dec. 10, for men and Dec. 11, for women.

To be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must compete in 90% or start in 66% of the total games played with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her institution and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
