MEQUON, Wis. - The Loras College men's wrestling team turned in a strong performance at the Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) Invite on Saturday, earning five placewinners across multiple weight classes.
Leading the way was
Landry Barker, who delivered a standout performance at 184 lbs with a second place finish. Barker put together an impressive run to the finals, continuing his early-season momentum and picking up several key wins along the way.
At 165 lbs,
Aiden Cartwright secured a fourth place finish, wrestling with composure and pace throughout the tournament. Teammate
Allen Catour also earned a spot on the podium in the same bracket, placing sixth after battling through a deep field.
In the 141 lb bracket,
Nosa Egbon turned in a strong showing to take fifth place, demonstrating resilience and athletic scoring ability as he fought back in the consolation rounds.
Rounding out Loras' placewinners was
Wiley Jessup, who finished sixth at 133 lbs. Jessup continued to gain valuable experience and picked up solid wins in one of the day's most competitive brackets.
Up Next: The Duhawks return to action on Thursday, Dec. 4 in Eau Claire, Wis. for a quad dual meet. Loras will wrestle UW-Eau Claire, UW-Whitewater, and Augsburg University.
