NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Loras College men's and women's cross country teams were named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team for the fall 2024 season, the organization announced Friday.
In addition, five Duhawks were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes. Seniors
Frankie Chaidez and
Becca Diddia earned the distinction on the women's side while juniors
Jack Beehler and
Eric Rutherford, along with senior
Jacob Belha earned the distinction on the men's side.
Loras' women posted a GPA of 3.61, while the men recorded a 3.24. To be eligible for all-academic honors, teams must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, while student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet or finish in the top-50 percent at NCAA Nationals.
The Purple and Gold were among 172 men's teams and 207 women's teams at the Division III level receiving All-Academic Team honors.
