Leitzen Punches Ticket to NCAA Division III National Championships

November 16, 2025

WAVERLY, Iowa — Loras College standout Keelee Leitzen is headed to the NCAA Division III National Championships after delivering another impressive performance at the Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday.

Leitzen placed fourth overall in 21:46.1 at the meet hosted by Wartburg College, earning All-Region honors and securing an individual qualifying spot for the national meet in Spartanburg, S.C. The result caps a strong season for the freshman, who has consistently led the Duhawks throughout the fall.

Her finish helped guide Loras to a seventh-place team showing in a competitive 30-team field, marking the end of the season for the rest of the squad. Leitzen, however, will continue her postseason run on the national stage.

Head coach Ethan Adlfinger praised Leitzen's effort and execution in challenging conditions. "It was a very, very windy day, and we went in with the goal of getting that ticket with as little work as possible. I was very impressed with how she handled her first regional championship. She sat off the lead pack, converted the right moves, and executed a perfect race," said Adlfinger.

The 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23, in Spartanburg, S.C. Leitzen will compete in the women's race, set to begin at 10 a.m.
