DUBUQUE, Iowa – Despite a big fourth quarter effort, the Loras College women's basketball team fell to the Wartburg College Knights 80-71 on Saturday afternoon inside the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.

Kylie Rigby put the Loras (3-5 Overall, 0-3 American Rivers Conference) on the board first in the opening minute of the game. After both teams traded baskets,
Ashtyn Kelderman knocked down a jumper to give her team a 10-9 lead. The following possession, Katelyn Aden connected on a three for Wartburg to regain the lead. Wartburg would hang on to that lead the remainder of the game. The Knights (3-5 Overall, 2-1 A-R-C) held the Duhawks to just 16 points over the next 15 minutes of play and took a 43-26 lead to halftime.
After trailing by as many as 22 in the second half, Kelderman connected on another three to cut the Wartburg lead to 11 with four minutes remaining in the fourth, but that would be the closest Loras would get.
Claire Wagner led the way for Loras with 20 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the floor and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Kelderman and Rigby finished with 13 points and 12 points, respectively, while
Kiah Davis did a little bit of everything, finishing with 10 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Katie Boulanger paced Wartburg with 25 points and six rebounds. Lauren Golinghorst finished with 17 points while Grace Hennessy poured in 12 points and five rebounds.
Up Next: Loras will travel to Hilo, Hawaii to compete in the Big Island Classic. The Duhawks will take on North Park University on Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. CT, followed by Hilbert College on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. CT.
