DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's basketball team fell to the University of Wisconsin-Stout, 75-51, on Tuesday afternoon in their non-conference finale.
UW-Stout (9-2 Overall, 0-0 WIAC) held a 22-6 lead after the first quarter, but the Duhawks (4-8, 0-3 American Rivers Conference) cut into that deficit with a strong second quarter.
Ashtyn Kelderman had 10 points in the quarter thanks to two three-pointers as Loras trailed at halftime 32-23.
The Blue Devils opened the second half with a 7-0 run in the opening minutes to take 36-23 lead and never looked back. UW-Stout took advantage of 21 Loras turnovers en route to their ninth win of the season.
Kelderman paced the Purple and Gold with 13 points on 3-of-5 shooting from deep.
Emma Thompson followed with 10 points while
Lexi Beier and
Page Erickson each added eight points.
The Blue Devils were led by Brooklynn Birt who had 18 points. Julia Rybacki finished with 15 points and Mary Berg rounded out double-digit scorers with 13 points and a game-high five assists.
Up Next: Loras will return to A-R-C play on Saturday, Jan. 3, to take on the Coe College Kowhawks. Game time from the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
