LINCOLN, Neb. – The Loras College women's basketball team rolled past the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves, 86-46, on Saturday afternoon inside Snyder Arena.
The Duhawks (6-11 Overall, 2-6 American Rivers Conference) found themselves down 8-4 early in the first quarter but used an 18-3 run throughout the remainder of the period to take a 12-point lead after one. Loras went on to outscore NWU (4-12, 1-6) 19-6 in the second quarter.
Claire Wagner had four points in the quarter, while
Emma Webb and
Lexi Beier each connected on threes.
The Purple and Gold dominated in the second half, going 17-of-37 from the floor, and 7-of-16 from beyond the arc. Loras utilized it's size advantage over the Prairie Wolves, scoring 44 points in the paint compared to just 16 for NWU.
All 15 players found themselves in the scoring column for Loras with
Calli Grosinski and
McKenna Carroll each scoring their first points of the season for Loras.
Wagner scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Ashtyn Kelderman finished with 14 points while
Kylie Rigby went 3-of-4 from beyond the arc to finish with nine points.
Nebraska Wesleyan was led by Anastyn Pettlon with nine points, while Carney Black finished with seven.
Up Next: Loras will return to the court on Saturday, Jan. 24, as they play host to Simpson College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center.
