Cole Sondgeroth joined the Loras College Athletic Department in June of 2019 as the Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach after two years as a graduate assistant at Millikin University.

The 2020-21 season saw the men's team reach new heights as Jake Peiser became the Duhawks' fifth conference champion and first in nearly ten seasons, shooting a 290 to capture Most Valuable Golfer honors in the Championship. As a team, the Loras College men's golf team placed second with a team score of 1,233, securing the team's best finish since 2011. Academically, the golf program accounted for a total of four student-athletes in Mallory Gardiner, Ryan Keating, Buddy Martens and Sam Martin.

Sondgeroth, a Bloomington, Ill. native, was named the Army Athlete of the Year in 2013 before continuing his athletic career at Millikin.

As a four-year member of the golf team at Millikin, Sondgeroth was named to the CCIW's All-Academic team four consecutive years and was a Srixon/Cleveland Academic All-American as a junior and as a senior. Sondgeroth's best single round for the Big Blue came at the Elmhurst College Spring Invitational where he carded a 2-under 70.

During his two years on the coaching staff, Sondgeroth helped lead Millikin to nine top-five finishes, including a third place finish at the 2019 CCIW Championships.

Sondgeroth earned his master's degree in business administration and now resides in Dubuque with his dog, Koda.
