Steines threw 9 1/3 innings of four-hit ball against Central College last weekend, but settled for the loss after the Dutch scored on a balk call. The Dubuque native tossed 11 strikeouts, coming one shy of the highest mark in the Iowa Conference this season. For Steines, the 11 strikeout mark is a career high, besting his previous mark of nine, which he did twice this season.
