A LOOK AT THE NORSE...
The Norse enter Saturday's game with a three-game losing streak triggered by the Duhawks on Saturday, October 18 with a 1-0 loss. Since the two teams last met, the Norse also fell to Central (3-2) and Univeristy of Dubuque (2-1). Overall, the Norse are 13-4 on the season with a 3-4 record in Iowa Conference Regular Season play resulting in a sixth place finish in the IIAC.
In their last matchup, the Norse tested the Duhawks early and often but strong defense from
Hannah Wilson prevented them from being able to capitalize on the opportunities. Junior
Katie Truesdale provided the Duhawks' lone goal in the 21' when
Claire Murphy was able to keep a rebounded a free kick in play. Wilson finished the game with eight saves earning her third clean sheet of the season and Iowa Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Continuing the lead the Norse offensively is freshman, Melisse Chasse. The Apple Valley, Minnesota native has tallied nine goals and added 11 assists on the season for a total of 29 points. However, Chasse has been relatively quiet in the last two weeks only finding one assist in three games.
Leading the defense for Luther is sophomore Lauren Thornodsgard in the goal. Thornodsgard has a 1.16 Goals Against Average, 24 saves, one shutout, and a .706 save percentage.
LORAS FINISHES IIAC PLAY WITH 8-2 VICTORY...
On the final day of 2014 regular season play, the Duhawks handed Coe a 8-2 loss on the road in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Three different Duhawks finished with multiple goals with junior
Katie Truesdale leading the way with a hat trick.
The two teams rallied back and forth in the first 45 minutes with the two teams combining for four goals. Truesdale opened the scoring for the Duhawks in the 14th minute. Minutes later, Coe found their first goal off the foot of Sarah Fathallah for her 11th of the season.
Claire Murphy quickly put Loras back in front with her third goal of the year in the 29th minute. Sophomore
Tori Ochs earned her first goal of the season in the 36th minute to cap off the scoring in the first half. The Duhawks tallied 16 shots in the first half to the Kohawks' six.
Hannah Wilson saved five shots.
Ochs was first to the scoresheet in the second half scoring her second of the half. Truesdale completed her hat trick with goals in the 66th minute and the 67th minute to put the Duhawks up 5-1.

Dan Rothert turned to his bench with the lead easily in hand allowing an impressive 27 Duhawks to play.
In the final 15 minutes, three goals were scored to complete the scoring for the night. Coe found another goal while
Gen Kapecki added two goals in the 78th minute and the 87th minute to cap the scoring the for Loras.
UNFAMILIAR POSITION...
This season marks the first time the Duhawks have not been the Iowa Conference Regular Season Champion since 2009. In 2009, Loras was beaten out by Luther and University of Dubuque for a third place finish with a record of 5-1-2 in conference play. Luther finished the regular season at 6-1-1 for the first place finish followed by UD 14 6-2-0 for second place.
