NCAA Infractions Case - Fall 2026

Loras College has resolved an NCAA Division III financial aid matter involving the administration of a donor-funded scholarship program. The NCAA determined that the structure and awarding of the scholarship did not comply with Division III financial aid regulations.

The college fully cooperated throughout the NCAA review process and accepts responsibility for ensuring compliance with all NCAA requirements. This matter did not involve academic misconduct, recruiting violations, or wrongdoing by the student recipients or their families.

As part of the resolution, Loras College will complete a two-year probationary period and implement additional education, monitoring, and reporting measures to strengthen compliance practices. The college has already enhanced its financial aid oversight processes and remains committed to transparency, integrity, and accountability.

Loras College continues to provide students with a high-quality educational experience and equitable access to financial aid opportunities. Student success, academic excellence, and ethical stewardship remain central to the college's mission.

As a result of these violations, the COI imposed the following penalties:
• Two years of probation (Sept. 4, 2026 - Sept. 3, 2028)
• A $2,500 fine
• Comprehensive rules education for athletic department staff and coaches regarding extra benefits for student-athletes.
• Inform prospective student-athletes in the baseball program in writing of the infraction
• Financal Aid Level II Review
• NCAA Complience Education for Enrollment and Financial Aid Personnel
• Public reprimand and censure through the release of the public infractions decision
