CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras swimming and diving programs tasted defeat for the first time in their 2015-16 seasons as they fell to Coe on Friday night. Senior John Maevski clipped two pool records inside the Coe Natatorium in both the 1m and 3m diving competitions. The men's team was edged 121-83, while the women's team dropped a 127-100 decision.

In just his second competition back from injury, Maevski showed little signs of sluggishness as he scored 116.9 points better than last week's effort against Ripon in the 1m dive. His mark of 278.1 set a pool record inside the Coe Natatorium. Later, in the 3m diving, Maevski kept on his hot pace, scoring a 277.65, nearly six points better than last week. The Elk Grove Village native won both events to run his season win total to four.

Senior Zach Benson shaved more than three seconds off his time last week in the 200 IM, to finish first with a time of 2:07.25. Freshman Mac Faldet continued his strong college start with his win in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.25, two seconds faster than his previous best, winning his second race in as many weeks.

In the women's competition, senior Elise Amo posted a season's best time in the 1000 free with her time of 11:45.49 to earn second place. Her opening week mark of 11:59.84. Freshman Kasey Jacobson showed improvement from her time last week in the 50 free, posting a time of 26.29 and taking first place.

Freshman Mikaela Lengwin jumped nearly 70 points in the 1m diving with a score of 221.50 to earn first place. In the 100 fly, sophomore Kim Breaux took second place and cut almost three seconds off last week's time to finish at 1:04.24.
