WHEATON, Ill. (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday night, falling to Wheaton, 78-52. Junior Hanna Stokes led the Duhawks with 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting.

• After Tuesday's loss, the Thunder now lead the all-time series between the two teams, 4-1

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• After junior Kari Fitzpatrick opened the scoring with a 3-pointer, Wheaton responded with a 11-0 run and extended its lead to 10 before the end of the first quarter
• Trailing by 23, Loras cut the deficit to 13 to start the fourth quarter after a 12-2 run … Once again, the Thunder responded and put the game out of reach, outscoring the Duhawks 19-9 over the final 7:10 of the game

TEAM NOTABLES
• Loras committed a season-high 21 turnovers, to which Wheaton turned into 25 points
• The Duhawks had 10 shots blocked by the Thunder, the most an opponent has had against Loras since Feb. 12, 2014

INDIVIDUAL NOTABLES
• Junior Hanna Stokes scored a career high 11 points, her previous high came against Nebraska Wesleyan on Jan. 18
• Senior Addie Oberman scored all 10 of her points in the fourth quarter, recording double-digits in each of her first three games this season
• Senior Cyerra Hutchins led the all players with eight rebounds, bringing her total to 23 this season

• Loras returns to the Key City for a non-conference match up against Beloit from inside the Athletic & Wellness Center on Saturday. A season ago, the Duhawks topped the Buccaneers, 71-44. Senior Addie Oberman registered 13 points and eight assists in the game. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
