Luther Tops Women's Basketball

DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team fell to Luther on Saturday, 78-53. Freshman Marissa Schroeder led the Duhawks in her first collegiate start with 17 points and seven rebounds.

- Luther now holds a 36-25 record over Loras, including five of the last six and the last four consecutive 

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- In her first collegiate start, freshman Marissa Schroeder scored four of Loras' first six points despite Luther grabbing an early 13-6 lead over the Duhawks
- A 7-0 Norse run prompted a Loras timeout with 3:49 left in the first quarter with the Duhawks trailing 22-10
- Luther created it's largest lead of the night, 41-26, after a 9-0 scoring run in the second quarter
- Schroeder and sophomore Macenzie Kraemer both drained shots from beyond-the-arc to end the run from the Norse and pull Loras to within 13
- The Duhawks ended the half on a 14-3 run, cutting the Luther lead to five
- To start the third quarter Luther got off to a 9-0 run of their own that swung momentum back in its favor

- Schroeder recorded a career-high 17 points in her first collegiate start for the Purple & Gold 
- Loras' 11-0 run was fueled by six points off the hand of Schroeder and five points by senior Addie Oberman 
- Oberman has now recorded double-digit points in all but one of the Duhawks contests this year after finishing with 11 on Saturday
