DECORAH, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team fell to 14-9 (8-6 IIAC) after a 50-47 road loss to Luther. Senior
Lori Obendorf led the Duhawks with her fifth double-double of the year, recording a team-high 15 points and 13 rebounds.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
First Quarter
- A 3-pointer from junior Addie Oberman pulled Loras within one at 7-6 after the Norse began the game on a 7-0 run.
- With less than two minutes remaining in the quarter, the Norse hit a shot from downtown to pull ahead seven to match their biggest lead thus far.
Second Quarter
- Senior Terese McMahon recorded the first points of the quarter for the Duhawks on a jumper to pull Loras within five.
- With four minutes remaining in the second quarter, McMahon headed to the line for her second time of the night and hit her first free-throw to have her second rebounded by Obendorf for the putback to pull Loras to within one at 20-19.
- Luther ended the period on a 6-0 run and took a 26-19 lead into halftime.
Third Quarter
- McMahon got things started on the right foot for Loras in the third quarter as the senior collected a crucial offensive rebound and capitalized with the putback.
- With seconds remaining on the clock at the end of the quarter, junior Lauren Stanich drained the pull-up jumper to pull the Duhawks to within seven at 38-31.
Fourth Quarter
- Four-straight points from McMahon pulled the game to even at 41 for the first tie of the day with 5:11 to play.
- On the next possession for the Norse, Waller's jumper pushed Luther back in front.
- The Norse sealed the win with a pair of free-throws with 13 seconds left.
