Jacob Peterson preserved his second clean of the weekend, making seven saves, including a penalty by the Johnnies in the 76th minute.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- Sophomore
Alex Herrera worked his way around his defender and was taken down in the box which resulted in the penalty that Simon converted
- In the 76th minute, Saint John's sent the ball into the box and in an effort to collect the loose ball, Peterson was whistled for a foul
- On the ensuing penalty, the Fenwick prep used every inch of his 6-foot-2 frame to deny the scoring opportunity and keep his clean sheet intact
- Following the goal, the Duhawks ripped off the next five shots in the game, focing three saves from the Johnnies' keeper
NOTABLES
- Simon continued his scorching start to his Duhawk career, netting his fourth goal in as many matches. Sunday's winner was the first from the penalty spot for the Kimberly, Wis. native.
- Peterson notched his second consecutive shutout and 15th of his career. The River Forest, Ill. Native saved all seven shots he face over the course of the match.
- Loras registered a season-high 12 shots on target .. In comparison to 2016, the Duhawks recorded at least 12 shots on target twice

The Shattuck St. Mary's prep provided a high level of aggressiveness from his forward position. It was his pressure in the final third that resulted in Saint John's being whistled for a foul in the box and the ensuing penalty conversion by Simon.

The Duhawks head back to the Rock Bowl on Wednesday for a non-conference tilt against Chicago. The No. 9 Maroons are off to a 4-0 start to their season, including a 3-1 victory of No. 22 Carthage. When the two sides met in 2015, it was Loras who came away victorious by a 4-nil margin. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
