DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team opened its Tip-Off Classic on Friday afternoon with a double-digit win over Beloit, improving to 2-1 this season. Marissa Schroeder recorded her first double-double of the season, totaling 10 points with 10 rebounds.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• After the Buccaneers took a one-point lead with under three minutes left in the first quarter, the Duhawks went on a 9-3 run and took a five-point advantage into the second quarter
• Loras extended its lead to as many as 13, only to have Beloit cut it to two with 1:30 remaining in the half 
• A slow start resulted in three combined points in the first three minutes of the third quarter … With the flip of a switch, Hanna Stokes and Kari Fitzpatrick combined for 13 points, taking an 18-point lead to start the fourth quarter

NOTABLES
• Kari Fitzpatrick tallied a new career-high of 17 points,shooting 7-of-10 from the field
• Hanna Stokes also scored a career-high of nine points on 3-of-4 shooting
• Loras outscored the Buccaneers 50-22 in the paint
• The Duhawks dominated in the low post in the first half,scoring 22 of their 39 first half points in the paint
• Schroeder became the first to 50 points this season, holding a 16.67 points per game average through Loras' first three games
