Duhawks Defeated by No. 2/2 Wartburg in IIAC Semifinal

WAVERLY, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's basketball team had it's season ended on Thursday at the hands of No. 2 and top-seeded Wartburg, 63-46. Cyerra Hutchins and Addie Oberman combined for 23 points to lead the Duhawk offense.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- The Duhawks held a 5-2 lead after Kelly Barzowki found Marissa Schroeder in the paint for two points
- Loras regained the lead at 7-6 with 5:00 to go in the first quarter before the Knights responded with an 11-4 run to take the lead for good
- A layup by Hanna Stokes and pair of free-throws form Oberman cut Wartburg's lead to four with 1:21 remaining in the first half
- Cyerra Hutchins drew a foul going up for a putback and sank both of her free-throws to cut the Knights' lead to 26-20 late in the first half
- Hutchins again came up with another big play, this time a 3-point play after drawing the foul on a jumper
- With 5:08 left to play, a layup by Oberman and back-to-back threes from Oberman and Chapman gave the Duhawks an 8-0 run which cut the deficit to 12

- Loras finishes its season at 17-10 … The Duhawks advanced to the IIAC Tournament Semifinal in each of the last three seasons
- Three of Loras' four 3-pointers came in the fourth quarter … The Duhawks scored 20 of their 46 points off turnovers by the Knights
- In total, Loras finished with 1900 points and a scoring margin of +4.6, 449 assists and outscored opponents 499-414 in the second quarter

- Miranda Chapman finishes her career with 407 career points and set season-highs in points (149) and rebounds (50)
- Hutchins closes her collegiate career with 913 career points, scoring 538 of those while wearing the Purple & Gold
- Oberman finishes with 758 career points, including 501 while at Loras
- Marissa Schroeder concluded her freshman campaign as the Duhawks' season leader in scoring (12.4), field goal percentage (52.8) and offensive rebounds per game (1.7)
