DUBUQUE, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - The Loras women's soccer team defeated Saint Mary's in a Saturday matinee, earning a win  and ended their three game win-streak, on Saturday, Sept. 8. The Duhawks scored two quick goals in the first half of play. Jenny Wick and Gretchen Schutz netted the two goals for the Duhawks.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Loras opened with intense pressure, earning four corner kicks in the first five minutes of play … Jenny Wick opened the scoring with her first goal as a Duhawk in the 10th minute on an assist from Gretchen Schutz
• Later, in the 28th minute, Schutz ran her daily point total to three on her first goal of the season thanks to an assist from Elizabeth Mills
• Loras peppered the defense with seven shots on target in the opening half
• The Duhawks had chances to add to their lead, with four more shots on target in the second, but the Saint Mary's defense kept the deficit at 2-nil

NOTABLES
• The Duhawks outshot the Cardinals 14-1 in the first half and 21-3 in the match
• Loras improved to 6-1-0 all-time against Saint Mary's
