Duhawks Defeat Storm for Comeback Win

INDIANOLA, Iowa (Duhawks.com) - In their first conference action since before the Christmas break, the Loras women's basketball team used a late 12-1 run in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to seal a 76-67 victory over Simpson, improving to to 10-3 (3-1) this season. Macenzie Kraemer led the Loras scoring effort with 17 points, shooting 4-of-8 from the floor.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
• Riley Eckhart ignited a 10-2 run for the Duhawks, scoring Loras' first five points and forcing an timeout from Simpson
• The Storm rallied back early in the second quarter going on a 13-4 run to take their first lead of the game, 22-21
• Simpson's offense ignited for 24 second quarter points, enough for a three-point lead at halftime
• The Duhawks regained the lead in the third quarter at 36-35 after a pair of free-throws by Hanna Stokes
• With five minutes remaining, Courtney Schnoor found Eckhart at the perimeter for her third 3-pointer of the night, which gave Loras a 41-39 lead
• Later, Kraemer stole a Simpson pass and drew a foul to send her to the line where she converted both attempts
• The Duhawks corralled back-to-back offensive rebounds at the 4:00 mark, which led to a 3-pointer by Marissa Schroeder for Loras' first lead of the season half
• Loras ended the game on a 12-1 run, in which Schroeder converted the and-1 with 24 seconds to seal the Duhawk victory

• Schnoor tied her season-high with 14 points while adding three assists and two blocks
• After Wednesday's win, Loras is third in the American Rivers, behind Wartburg and Nebraska Wesleyan, who are both 3-0
