Courtney Schnoor's 23 points, the Loras College women's basketball team (3-0) defeated No. 17 UW-Oshkosh (2-1) 88-83 in the Loras Tip-Off Classic championship game.
Macenzie Kramer added 22 points while
Kari Fitzpatrick totaled 19 points for Loras.
Loras led in field goals (29-28), free-throws (20-14), and rebounds (36-28).
The Duhawks and Titans exchanged leads for much of the first period as it closed with the UW-Oshkosh leading 19-15. Loras regained the lead 32-30 with 4:51 remaining in the first half thanks to Kramer's three-pointer. Fitzpatrick drained a three-pointer to put Loras up by four at the end of the half 44-39.
With 6:52 remaining in regulation,
Madison Fleckenstein stole the ball and passed it Schnoor whom scored off of a turn around jumper. Fitzpatrick followed with a three-pointer to give Loras the 66-59 lead and forced a Titan timeout.
Titan guard Leah Porath tied the game up at 75-75 with seven seconds remaining in regulation.
Fitzpatrick secured two free-throws with one second remaining in overtime to give Loras the 88-83 cushion as the Duhawks won and handed UW-Oshkosh their first loss of the season.
Loras will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 23., as they will travel to Eau Claire, Wis. to face UW-Eau Claire in non-conference action.
