Nov. 30, 2019 – The No. 17/24-ranked Loras College women's basketball team improved to 6-0 on the season with a 92-30 win against the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders (2-3) on Saturday after the Duhawks' defense denied any offensive production by the opponent for nearly the entirety of the contest.

Loras (6-0, 1-0 A-R-C) opened the game with a 26 point run that lasted the first eight and a half minutes of the first quarter. MSOE got on the board with just under two minutes to play in the first quarter off free throws, but three layups from Marissa Schroeder closed out the first quarter to give Loras a 32-7 lead.

MSOE's Britta Graywold made a layup to start the second quarter but Courtney Schnoor, Macenzie Kraemer, Maesyn Benjamin, and Schroeder went on a 17-0 run to put Loras ahead 49-9 with 4:19 left in the first half. The Raiders mustered four points in the second quarter as Loras extended its lead 63-11 going into the final 20 minutes.

After the first half defensive pressure by the Duhawks, the Raiders were feeling the effects in the second half, but found some relief off two layups in the opening two minutes. It was short lived as Madison Fleckenstein added seven points in one minute to Loras' 73-15 lead with 4:50 remaining in the third quarter and the Duhawks had an 80-20 lead going into the final ten minutes. The Raiders were able to hang on with the Duhawks in the fourth quarter, scoring ten points to Loras' 12, but the Duhawks had sealed the win long before, cruising to a 92-30 victory.

Schroeder led the team with 17 points in the first half while Eckhart added 13 points, including shooting 3-4 from beyond the arc. Fleckenstein tallied ten points, shooting 2-2 from three-point range and the Duhawks' bench accounted for 43 of the 92 points. The Duhawks capitalized on defensive takeaways, coming up with 20 steals, forcing 29 turnovers, and scoring 37 points off turnovers by the Raiders.

Loras returns to American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play on Wednesday, Dec. 4 in Decorah, Iowa as the Duhawks face Luther College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 P.M.
