Nov. 9, 2019 – The Loras College swimming and diving teams split a pair of home dual meets on Saturday as both the men and women defeated Knox College and fell to Augustana College.

The women celebrated a first place swim by Sarah Shafer in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.63 and runner-up performances from Shafer in the 50-yard freestyle (25.82) and Kinsey Bogen in the 100-yard freestyle (59.04). The 200-yard freestyle relay of Shafer, Bogen, Alex Nesset and Nina Schiro also placed second with a time of 1:45.78. The women defeated Knox by a score of 123-40 and dropped a 161-39 decision to Augustana.

In the men's events, John Lynch IV placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.55 and Zach Nelson was right behind in third with a time of 2:08.74. AJ Gainer was second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.99 and Tim LaGrange was second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:45.22). Loras won 125-71 against the Prairie Fire and fell 155-54 to the Vikings.

The Duhawks return to the pool on Friday, Nov. 22 at Simpson College. The meet is set to start at 6 P.M.
