DECORAH, Iowa (Sept. 11, 2021) – Collecting its second team title in as many weeks and seeing multiple top-ten times fall, the No. 17-ranked Loras College men's cross country team won the Luther College All-American Invitational on Saturday.
Fifth-year senior
Ethan Hammerand led the charge for the Duhawks in the four-mile race, placing sixth with the fifth-fastest time all-time (20:46.09) and
Ryan Harvey running the sixth-fastest to place eighth (20:53.83).
Luke Guttormson also ran a top-ten time, ranking tenth, to place tenth overall (20:59.44) and
Joey Schultz placed 11
th, running 21:02.21.
Will Yasdick rounded out the scoring for the Duhawks in 15th (21:19.00) with freshman
Julian Watson turning in a strong race for 16th and running 21:23. 35.
David Olmos was a top-20 finisher for Loras as well, placing 20th with a time of 21:29.74.
Loras posted 50 points to win the meet, edging Luther with 59 points in second and Iowa Central Community College in third with 66.
The Duhawks look to keep the momentum rolling at the National Catholic Championship on Friday, Sept. 17, hosted by Notre Dame University. Races begin at 3:30 P.M.
