No. 15/11 Women’s Soccer Looking for Second Straight A-R-C Tournament Championship

November 4, 2022

Nov. 4, 2022 – Eyeing another automatic berth into the NCAA Division III National Tournament, the No. 15/11 Loras College women's soccer team has one last match standing in its way as the Duhawks host the Simpson College Storm for the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament Championship Game on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 5 P.M.

The Duhawks (15-0-3) are still unbeaten against A-R-C teams this season and have not allowed a goal since a Sept. 30. Loras took down fifth-seeded Luther College 5-0 on Wednesday night to advance to this game versus the third-seeded Storm (12-5-1).

SCOUTING THE STORM
Simpson pulled the upset of second-seeded Wartburg College on Wednesday, taking down the Knights 2-1 in Waverly, Iowa to advance to the tournament championship game. The Storm first had to beat sixth-seeded Central College, which they did in a 2-1 game last weekend.

Senior forward Cassie Nash has scored each of the team's four postseason goals so far this season and ranks among the best goal-scorers in the country with an A-R-C-leading 24 goals. Nash has scored in seven consecutive games with five multi-goal games during that stretch.

Want to know the last time that Nash was held scoreless in a match? That was on Oct. 8 versus the Duhawks, who claimed a 3-0 win in Indianola, Iowa. Nash and the storm have won seven straight games since then and are looking for revenge this time around with a trophy on the line.
