Nov. 5, 2022 – Loras College's swimming and diving teams kept the momentum rolling on Saturday afternoon as the Duhawks claimed two more lopsided victories over North Central College at the San Jose Pool.
The Duhawk men dominated the Cardinals for a 148-25 victory, improving Loras to 5-0 on the season. The Loras women took care of business with a 119-27 victory, giving them back-to-back dual wins. Both teams put up dominating performances on Friday night as the Duhawks swept Knox College.
Junior
Annie Quinn led the Duhawk women with a pair of victories on Saturday, winning both of her individual races to go along with a relay win to start the meet.
Quinn led off the 200-yard medley relay team en route to a win for herself and teammates
Emma Pajtash,
Taylor Hrabak, and
Kendra Sirianni in the meet's first race. Quinn later went on to win each the 50-yard freestyle 100-yard freestyle races.
Pajtash won the 200-yard breaststroke race over three Duhawk teammates in her only other action of the day. The freshman was joined in the winning category by sophomore
Morgan Haus in the 200-yard freestyle and by senior
Kinsey Bogen in the 500-yard freestyle.
Junior
Brad LaGrange and freshman
Connor Smith led the Duhawk men with a pair of individual wins while LaGrange also helped lift the 200-yard freestyle relay team to a win in the final event of the meet.
LaGrange grabbed the top spot in each the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races, taking first over a pair of Duhawk teammates on both occasions. Smith was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley race before claiming the 500-yard freestyle race to mark the first time this season that he was won multiple races at a meet.
Smith was first to the wall ahead of NCC's Gavin Sheehan in both of his race wins.
Freshman
Caden Gillmore (200-yard fly),
Kevin McMillan (100-yard backstroke), and
Brian Day (200-yard breaststroke) also snagged races wins on Saturday to help secure another dominating win for the Duhawks.
Saturday's meet marked the last home meet of the 2022 season for the Duhawks. They'll hit the road next weekend versus Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa with a 1 P.M. meet.
