DUBUQUE, Iowa- The Loras College women's soccer team defeated the Simpson College Storm, 2-0, Saturday afternoon inside the Rock Bowl.
After a competitive first 30 minutes that saw eight total shots from the Duhawk offense,
Savannah Johnson was finally able to put one in the back of the net in the 39th minute off an assist from
Emerson Gasmann.
The Duhawks added to their lead in the second half when
Bella Talbot scored the final goal of the contest off a pass from
Julia Neary at the 62:58 mark. Loras (12-1-0 overall, 5-0-0 A-R-C) continued to shine offensively as they held a 12-0 shot advantage going into the second half and finished the game with 19 total shots, putting five of them on goal.
The Duhawk defense held Simpson (11-2-1, 4-1-0 A-R-C) to only four shots, two of which were on goal.
Kyndal Kells recorded two big saves in goal to add another shutout to her season total.
Up Next: The Duhawks will continue American Rivers Conference play as they travel to Luther College on Oct. 18. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
