Duhawks Race at Connecticut College Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The men's and women's cross country teams of Loras College raced at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday. The No. 31 men's team took sixth in both the white and blue 8K races, while the women placed 14th in the blue 6K.

Overall, Jack Beehler was the Duhawks' top finisher with his seventh place finish in the men's 8K white race. Beehler clocked in a time of 25:59.3, which stands as a career-best for the sophomore. Following Beehler in the race was Stephen Ringo, who finished 27th at 26:43.5. Colby Cryer came in 39th with a time of 26:53.3, followed by Logan Hoger (60th – 27:20.3), Gavin Denholm (64th – 27:25.6), Jacob Hocking (77th – 27:41.3), Cade Messer (82nd – 27:49.9), Derek Behrens (90th – 28:05.0), Lucas Arnold (96th – 28:17.3), Dom Garrard (104th – 28:26.3), Carson Hendry (111th – 28:39.3), and Aaron Lodwig (28:54.5).

In the men's 8K blue race, Julian Watson was Loras' top racer at 24:57.2, which placed the junior 20th in the field. Ryan Harvey placed 44th after finishing in 25:31.2, while Jacob Belha took 46th at 25:35.8. Carlo Dannenfelser crossed the finish line in 47th at 25:36.2, followed by Landis Musser in 56th (25:43.1), Eric Rutherford in 57th (25:44.1), Matt Foote in 112th (26:26.4), and Leo Gartlan in 132nd (26:44.0).

The women's 6K white race saw Erin Phelan finish first for the Duhawks, as she came in 68th with a time of 25:28.8. Samantha Foht finished 91st at 25:57.8, followed by Sarah Gibson in 107th at 26:30.7. Bailey Vaughan finished the blue 6K race in 66th at 23:00.5, followed by Becca Diddia in 77th (23:12.3), Natalia Wrobel in 80th (23:13.4), Frankie Chaidez in 88th (23:24.7), Hunter Jones in 135th (24:02.2), Paige Jacobs in 138th (24:05.8), and Avery Kittl in 154th (24:32.8).

UP NEXT: The Duhawks will have the next weekend off from competition as the program ramps up for the American Rivers Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Pella.
