DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Loras College women's soccer team has earned a spot in the American Rivers Conference Tournament Championship game after shutting out the University of Dubuque 3-0 in a semifinal match inside the Rock Bowl on Wednesday evening.
Hannah Schmitz netted the first goal of the contest at the 30:52-minute mark to give the Duhawks a 1-0 lead heading into the half.
Savannah Johnson extended the Loras (16-1-0 overall, 8-0-0 A-R-C) lead to 2-0 by converting a penalty kick in the 49
th minute of play. The final goal of the match was also scored by Johnson who found the back of the net off a corner kick from teammate
Reagan Lindsay with under 13 minutes left to play.
The Duhawks totaled 22 shots, which featured 12 shots on goal, while the Spartans (11-6-1, 4-3-1) finished with five total shots, putting three of them on target.
Kyndal Kells earned the shutout in goal with three saves.
