BAYAMÓN, Puerto Rico – The Loras College women's basketball team wrapped up the Puerto Rico Clásico with a decisive 72-32 victory over Union College inside the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez on Wednesday afternoon.
Madison Haslow's three-pointer in the first nine seconds of the game gave the Duhawks a lead that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest. The Loras (8-2 overall, 2-1 A-R-C) defense held Union (3-6 overall, 2-1 Liberty) to single digit points in three out of the four quarters of play.
The Purple and Gold led 34-16 at the half and outscored their opponent 38-16 in the second half in route to their fourth consecutive victory.
Haslow recorded her first double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Sami Martin also added in 13 points along with six boards, while
Megan Murray contributed eight points and three assists in the win. As a team, the Duhawks shot 39.4 percent (22-of-66) from the floor and 28.6 percent (10-of-35) from behind the arc.
