MARION, Iowa – The Loras College men's golf team earned a seventh-place finish in its first meet of the fall at the Mount Mercy Fall Invitational at Hunters Ridge Golf Course this past weekend.
The Duhawks finished in a three-way tie for seventh place with a final score of 621. As a team, Loras improved by 15 strokes from day one (318) to day two (303).
William Schimbke led the Duhawks carding a 79 in round one and a 74 in round two to finish in a tie for 19
th-place.
Jordyn Raymond shot an 81 through the first 18 holes and knocked off four strokes on day two to walk away with a total score of 158 in his first collegiate tournament.
Noah Nabb shaved off 17 strokes between round one (88) and round two (71) to finish third for the Duhawks with a score of 159. Rounding out the Loras lineup was
Doug Custis who totaled a 163 and
Keagan Wurth who finished with a 167.
Loras welcomes eight teams for the two-day Tri-State Classic beginning on Sunday, Sept. 17 at The Meadows Golf Club in Asbury, Iowa.
