WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Loras College women's soccer team earned their 10
th win of the season with a dominant 4-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Tuesday evening.
The Duhawks got on the board first by way of
Savannah Johnson, who netted home her eighth goal of the season off an assist from
Christina Salerno.
Ellie Vehovsky secured her first career goal off an assist from
Emerson Gasmann. The Duhawks ended the first half with a 2-0 lead over the Warhawks.
Not long into the second half,
Lauren Riggle would cash in as she scored her fifth goal of the season off a corner kick by
Reagan Lindsay.
Securing the win for the Purple and Gold with the final goal of the night was
Athena Sheets who put one past the keeper off the second assist of the night for Gasmann.
Loras (10-0-0, 1-0 A-R-C) outshot UW-Whitewater (4-5-2, 0-0-0 WIAC) 16 to three, seven of which were on frame for the Duhawks compared to zero on target shots from the Warhawks.
Up Next: The Purple and Gold welcome Nebraska Wesleyan University to the Rock Bowl for their second conference matchup of the season. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m on Saturday, Oct. 5.
