Men's and Women's Cross Country Compete at DIII Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Loras College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Division III Pre-National Meet on Friday evening at La Verne Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
 
Championship Women's 6K
Out of 389 runners, Becca Diddia finished 75th clocking in a time of 22:55.60.  The next Duhawk to cross the finish line was Frankie Chaidez who placed 125th with a time of 23:38.02. Natalia Wrobel finished 165th with a time of 24:10.57, while Bailey Vaughan clocked in a time of 24:27.90 which earned her 192nd place. Paige Jacobs finished 247th with a time of 25:01.79, while Ivy Glendening finished 250th with a 25:05.63. Rounding out the scoring was Lily Molloy who ran a  25:12.40 placing her in 250th place.

Hannah Landwehr finished 262nd (25:15.23), Emily Jackson finished 280th (25:30.28), and Maddie Mathis finished 319th (26:25.61).

The women placed 25th as a team out of 44 teams.

Open Women's 6K
Three Duhawks ran in the Open Women's 6k. Hunter Jones finished 53rd (25:56.7), Sarah Gibson finished 101st (27:32.37), and Olivia Carroll finished 144th (29:44.08) out of 174 runners.
 
Championship Men's 8K
Leading the pack was Isaac Bourne who clocked in a time of 25:05.30 to finish in 23rd place. Not far behind in 33rd place came Julian Watson with a time of 25:19.66. Eric Rutherford finished 70th running 25:46.76. In 77th place was Jacob Belha who earned a time of 25:52.91. Jack Beehler finished 110th with a time of 26:12.01. 119th place was Aaron Lodwig clocking in a time of 26:58.74. Earning the last points of the night for the Duhawks was Colby Cryer with a 251st place finish with a time of 27:32.91 out of 405 runners. 

Logan Hoger finished 261st (27:32.91), Landis Musser finished 286th (27:45.16), and Will Yasdick finished 300th (27:56.03)

The No. 26 Duhawks finished 8th out 46 teams.
 
Open Men's 8k
Finishing 9th out of 21 teams in the Men's Open 8K, Carlo Dannenfelser led the Duhawks coming in 28th place with a time of 26:46.05. Carson Hendrey finished 75th clocking in a time of 27:52.46. Just seconds behind, came Brayden Frey in 79th place with a time of 27:55.36. Evan Schlichting in 80th place earned a time of 27:55.43. Sam Horman placed 85th running a 28:03.79. Lucas Arnold placed 87th with a time of 28:06.42. Securing the last points for the Purple and Gold was Cade Messer who finished in 96th place with a time of 28:19.10.

Aiden Ruiz finished 113th (28:31.75), Enoch Thielhelm finished 162nd (29:20.14), Ben Zimmer finished 184th (29:52.17), and Vince Frederiksen finished 206th (30:23.82)

Up Next: The Duhawks are set to compete at Saukie Golf Course at the Augustana Interregional on Saturday, Oct. 19. The women begin at 11 a.m. and men begin at 11:45 a.m.
