TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Following a strong 2024 season campaign the No. 27 ranked Loras College Duhawks will once again compete at the NCAA Division III National Championship held in Terre Haute, Ind. this weekend.
Loras punched their ticket to the big dance for the fourth season in-a-row this past weekend at the Midwest Regional Championship where they placed fourth, earning an at-large bid to the 2024 national championship. Junior Isaac Bourne paced the Duhawks finishing in 11th place to earn All-Region honors. Other All-Region finishers were seniors Julian Watson, and Jacob Belha who finished 26th and 29th, respectively.
The Duhawks will now look to improve upon their 29th-place finish at last year's national championship in New Carlisle, Pa.
The Purple and Gold have an experienced team with all seven runners having national meet experience.
"This is the first time in all my years here that we have had a group of seven guys that have ran at the national meet. said head coach Ethan Adlfinger, "Not that it is necessarily any easier, but you are a little bit more ready to handle adversity, differences in starts, how you find yourself in the middle of the race, and how you can see yourself move throughout the race. I am excited to have them tackle the course with that experience and I think it should play pretty well into their hand."
Start time for the men's 8,000-meter race is set for noon (ET) at La Verne Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday Nov. 23.
