The Purple and Gold kept the ball rolling against Averett University, taking 8-of-10 matches once again on their way to a 35-9 victory. Barker had the only pin for the team in 2:22, while Fiser, Kinkaid, and Gnida accumulated techs against their opponents. Schropp and Bohren earned majors, while
Carter Anderson (133 lbs) and Watson had decision wins.
In the most anticipated dual of the trip, the Duhawks dropped a close one to No. 10-ranked Roanoke College, 22-18. After losing the first three matches, Loras rattled off four straight wins. Fiser put the Duhawks on the board with a 15-5 major decision, followed by a 16-4 major from Kinkaid. Bohren (14-6) and Gnida (11-2) also majored their competitors, placing the team score at 16-14 with only three matches left. Sadly, back-to-back wins for the Maroons put the dual out of reach, as a decision win by Clark concluded the dual.
Up Next: The Purple and Gold kick off the second half of their season as they return to action at the NWCA Division III National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Jan. 10-11.
