WAVERLY, Iowa – The Loras College women's basketball team fell to Wartburg College in the American Rivers Conference Tournament Championship game, 57-51, on Saturday afternoon inside Levick Arena.

A Macy Harris three-pointer put the Knights on the board first just 21 seconds into the contest. The Duhawks used an 8-1 run over four minutes of play to take what would be their largest lead of the game (8-4). Wartburg (25-2 overall, 16-0 American Rivers Conference) closed out the quarter with a 13-6 run to hold a 17-14 lead.

The home team extended their lead to as many as seven throughout the second period, but the Duhawks were able to respond with a basket of their own every time Wartburg attempted to pull away. The Knights held a 27-23 advantage at the break.

Megan Murray tied things up at 29 with a layup midway through the third quarter, but Wartburg answered back with an 8-0 run to regain the lead. Loras (23-4, 14-2) made it a two-possession game with a layup by Sami Martin to end the period.

The Purple and Gold started the fourth quarter with a 9-3 run to put themselves in front by one (47-46) for the first time since the first quarter. The Knights outscored the Duhawks 10-4 in the remaining 4:18 of play to earn the A-R-C Tournament title.

Silvana Scarsella and Martin led the Duhawk offense with 13 points apiece, while Madison Fleckenstein added in 11 points. As a team, Loras shot 36.8 percent (21-of-57) from the floor and 22.2 percent (4-of-18) from three.

Sara Faber led the way for the Knights with 17 points, while Harris and Jaedon Murphy chipped in 10 points each. As a team, Wartburg shot 30.6 percent (15-of-49) from the field and 34.8 percent (8-of-23) from downtown.

Up Next: The Duhawks await the results of the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, Feb. 26.
