PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The Loras College Duhawk men's and women's track and field teams partook in the UW-Platteville Invite on Friday and Saturday, with the No. 4 women winning four events and the 16
th-ranked men's 4x100-meter relay team finishing first.
Individually,
Grace Alley and
Sara Hoskins were winners on the women's side, as Alley finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 12.17 meters (39-11.25), while Hoskins cleared 1.71 meters (5-7.25)in the high jump to finish first. Alley's mark is third best in program history, while Hoskins' improves her lifetime best, which stands second on Loras' top-10 list.
In the relays, it was Loras' 4x100-meter relay squad of
Harmony Creasy,
Meghan McDonald,
Emma Seipel, and Alley finishing first with a time of 47.01, while the 4x400-meter relay team of
Layla Hughes,
Alyssa Pfadenhauer, Alley, and Creasy took first with a time of 3:51.46.
On the men's side, the lone event winner was the 4x100-meter relay team, which consisted of
De'Andre Klein,
Josh Smith,
Derik Bunten, and
Frank Day. The quartet closed out the face at 40.95, which is the third-fastest time in program history.
Klein went on to earn another top-10 mark, as his 10.69 time in the 100 meter race places him sixth all-time at Loras. Meanwhile Day, who also competed in the same race, finished with a time of 10.66, which stands fifth in Loras' record books.
Holden Murphy finished as the top attached participant of the javelin, throwing for 51.06 meters (167-6)
Up next, the Loras will head to Rock Island, Ill. to take part in the Augustana Meet of Champions April 19-20 at the Austin E. Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex.
