Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Spotlight: Tom Kult

September 30, 2025

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Tom Kult will be inducted into the Loras College Athletics Hall of Fame as a part of the Class of 2025 on Friday, Oct. 3 inside the Alumni Campus Center.

"I am truly honored and humbled to be inducted into the Loras Athletics Hall of Fame," said Kult. "To be recognized in this way is a reflection of the support, encouragement, and inspiration I have received from my coaches, teammates, and Loras staff throughout the past 34 years."

The New Berlin, Wis. native sits third in indoor shot put program history with a 16.62-meter throw and fourth on the outdoor shot put list with a 16.68-meter throw. His 16.62-meter throw at the 1996 NCAA Indoor Championships earned him national runner-up status.

Kult not only saw success as a student-athlete, but also as a coach. He guided Dana Klemm (1) and Sara Nauman (1) to two shot put national titles during his 16 years as a throws coach for the track and field program. The four-year member of the Duhawk football team joined the gridiron sideline as a running back and linebacker coach for six seasons as well.

"It's the people that make Loras such a special place to me. I want to thank the committee for this incredible honor, as well as my family, friends, teammates, and countless athletes who have shaped my journey along the way. I am extremely grateful for this recognition and to be among this distinguished group of Hall of Famers."

Kult currently resides in Peosta, Iowa with his wife, Jill, and their four children, Brady, Mackenzie, Tyler, and Riley. He began his 25th year of teaching in the Kinesiology Department at Loras this fall and just completed his 10th summer as the director of the Loras All-Sports Camp in July.
