PELLA, Iowa — The Loras College men's track and field team placed second at the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Outdoor Championships, hosted by Central College, finishing with 141 points, four individual conference titles and 12 All-Conference performances.
Freshman Tre'jon Igess led the Duhawks' effort, earning both the conference's Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Field Performer honors. He won the long jump with a mark of 6.88 meters and added a runner-up finish in the triple jump at 14.00 meters.
Isaac Bourne captured conference titles in both the 10,000 and 5,000 meters. His winning time of 29:37.25 in the 10,000 set meet and facility records, and he followed with a 14:35.03 performance in the 5,000 meters.
In the field events, Carter Allen claimed the discus title with a meet-record throw of 52.88 meters, a personal best that ranks ninth in Division III. He also placed third in the hammer throw at 55.01 meters. DreAnthony Jackson added a second-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 17.82 meters, also ranking ninth nationally.
On the track, Casey Tath earned All-Conference honors with third-place finishes in both the 100 meters (10.69 seconds) and 200 meters (21.71). Zeke Irving and Ian Fagan also secured All-Conference recognition in the 400 meters, placing second and third, respectively, with personal-best times of 47.44 and 47.82.
The 4x100 relay team of Tath, Irving, Fagan and Charlie Irwin placed second, posting a season-best time of 41.44 to earn All-Conference honors.
