DES MOINES, Iowa – The Loras College men's golf team concluded its 2023-24 season with a ninth-place finish at the American Rivers Conference Championship at the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa this past Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
As a team, the Duhawks shaved strokes off their score each round carding a 330 on day one, a 328 on day two and a 323 on day three to total a final score of 981.
Danny Anderson led the way for Loras, earning 26th place with a three-day total of 240 (+27). Doug Custis shot a 246 (+33) through 54 holes, while Keagan Wurth and Noah Nabb checked in next on the scorecard for the Purple and Gold with a 248 (+35) and a 256 (+43), respectively. William Schimbke closed out his collegiate career with a 277 (+64).
Luther College claimed its third consecutive conference title with a final score of 904 (+52) through three days of competition. The Norse walked away with two more awards as well with Jay Fjelstul earning Golfer of the Year honors after winning the individual title by three strokes (219, +6) and Scott Fjelstul taking home his 13th Coach of the Year award.
