Men's and Women's Cross Country Finish in Top Three at Bradley Intercollegiate

PEORIA, Ill. -  The Loras College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Bradley Intercollegiate Friday evening at Detweiller Park.

The No. 26-ranked men kicked things off at 5:15 p.m. with an 8K race. Eric Rutherford and Isaac Bourne led the Duhawks, finishing seventh and eighth respectively with personal best times of 25:22.00 and 25:22.70.

Not far behind was Jacob Belha (25:56.20 – 13th), Julian Watson (26:09.40 – 15th), Jack Beehler (26:13.20 – 17th), Aaron Lodwig (26:37.70 – 19th), and Colby Cryer (27:22.50 – 27th).

The men finished second overall in the race with a score of 61 points, just behind Bradley University. The Duhawks defeated Division II team Maryville University (Mo.) as well as Division I team Southern Illinois University.

Following the men's race, the women started their night with a three-mile race at 6:00 p.m. Frankie Chaidez and Becca Diddia led the Purple and Gold clocking in times of 17:51.80 and 18:15.30 placing 13th and 17th respectively.  

Rounding out the Duhawk racers were Bailey Vaughan (18:51.00 – 29th), Natalia Wrobel (19:16.00 – 37th), Ivy Glendening (19:25.00 - 42nd), Hannah Landwehr (19:31.20 – 44th), and Lily Molloy (19:38.90 – 48th).

The women finished third overall with a score of 102 points, behind Bradley University and Truman State University.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams finished as the top Division III team in the race.

Up Next:  The Duhawks will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. where they will race at La Verne Gibson Championship Course for Division III Pre-Nationals. The races are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
