Duhawks Finish Second, Ninth at Buena Vista Invite

STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Loras College men's and women's golf teams both competed in the Buena Vista University Invite over the weekend. The men's team finished in a tie for first, but took second place in the final standings after losing in a playoff hole, while the women placed ninth.  

The Duhawks had three golfers finish inside the top ten individually. Leading the way was Noah Nabb, who shot rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3), which gave him a third-place finish. Alex Link and Danny Anderson both posted two-day totals of 154 (+10), which placed them in a tie for eighth. Link shot a 76 (+4) in round one, followed by a 78 (+6) in round two. Anderson had himself a consistent weekend, shooting 77 (+5) during both days of competition. 

Doug Custis finished the tournament in a tie for 14th. He fired an opening round of 71 (-1), before shooting an 85 (+13) on day two. Quinn Walsh rounded out the Loras lineup, finishing 36th after posting a two-day total of 169 (+25). 

Playing as an individual, Will Coohey shot a 162 (+18) for the tournament after rounds of 79 (+7) and 83 (+11). Also playing as an individual was Emmett Loomis who finished 42nd in the tournament after posting a two-day total of 173 (+29). 

On the women's side, Jenna Bistline led the way for the Duhawks, finishing in a tie for fifth place. Bistline shot a tournament total of 163 (+19) with rounds of 78 (+6) and 85 (+13). Elish Flynn posted a score of 177 (+33), while Julia Busch finished the tournament in 43rd with a score of 185 (+41), which included rounds of 87 (+15) and 98 (+26).

Ellen Pechan and Kathleen Looney rounded out the Loras lineup, finishing 48th and 60th, respectively.
