NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Loras College men's cross country team climbed to No. 25 in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches Poll, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Duhawks also hold the No. 5 spot in the Midwest Region following a strong showing at last week's Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
Leading the way for Loras was
Isaac Bourne, who placed third out of 407 runners with a time of 24:25.1 to earn a top-25 finisher award.
Eric Rutherford followed in 28th place, clocking in at 25:04.8.
Loras saw five of its top seven runners notch personal bests on the course. McGrath led that group in 50th (25:18.3), followed by Beehler in 55th (25:23.1), Cryer in 154th (26:15.5), Hoger in 171st (26:24.0) and Schlichting in 184th (26:26.9).
As a team, Loras finished eighth out of 45 teams after coming into the race as the 10
th nationally ranked program.
The Duhawks return to action Saturday, Oct. 18, traveling to Rock Island, Ill., to compete in the Augustana Interregional at 11 a.m.
