DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Loras College men's wrestling team kicked off the 2025-26 wrestling season today, competing at the University of Dubuque Jim Fox Invite.
Five wrestlers for the Duhawks claimed titles on the day:
Aidan Gruenenfelder (125 lbs),
Wiley Jessup (133 lbs),
Eric Kinkaid (157 lbs),
Dustin Bohren (174 lbs), and
Landry Barker (184 lbs).Â
Gruenenfelder looked sharp on his way to finals, collecting a fall in 5:00 in his first match before winning 7-1 in the semifinals. In the finals, he had arguably his most dominant match of the day, putting up points in an 18-3 tech for the championship.
Jessup earned his second Jim Fox Invite title of his career, going 3-0 on the day. He won a close 8-4 match in the quarterfinals, followed by an impressive 17-2 tech to make the finals. There, he managed to come away with a nail-biting 7-6 decision to bring home the title for the second consecutive year.
Kinkaid continued his dominance from last year, picking up back-to-back tech falls (17-1 and 15-0) before winning 6-1 for first place.
Bohren racked up the bonus point victories in his tournament, securing a pin in 1:18, teching his semifinal opponent 18-0, and then claiming the top spot with a 16-6 major decision in the finals.
Similar to Jessup, Barker also won the Jim Fox Invite for the second time. After an 11-1 major, he won 6-2 in the semifinals before winning 12-5 in his last match.
While Loras had the most champions on the day, the Duhawks also had multiple wrestlers place:

Loras claimed the team title, while the University of Chicago finished in second, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in third, the University of Dubuque in fourth, and Eureka College in fifth.
