EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Loras College men's basketball team fell Sunday afternoon 91-74 in a well fought exhibition contest against Division I University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles.
USI (1-3) opened the first four minutes with a commanding 11-0 lead before a layup from freshmenÂ
Damyen Jackson got the Duhawks (2-1) on the board.
The Screaming Eagles used the early momentum to maintain a strong lead through the half, but the Duhawks found their stride by going 4-of-5 in the final five minutes and cut the lead down to 15 (44-29).Â
Johnny Semany offered back-to-back buckets in that stretch against his former team, andÂ
Kyle Kober led the team with nine points at the break.
Loras set the tone to begin the second half with aÂ
Nolan Berendes three pointer and cut the lead to 11 (50-39) at the under 16 timeout. 11 would be the closest the Duhawks got in the second half as the Eagles regained momentum thanks to a 58.6 field goal percentage in the second half while also connecting on 5-of-9 threes.

Kober led the scoring column with 19 points and shot a perfect 6-6 from the field.

Jack Haynes cleaned the glass with 14 boards to lead the Duhawks. Loras shot 41% from the field (24-59) and from beyond the arc (9-22) and posted 35 rebounds and 11 assists.Â

Southern Indiana was led by Ismail Habib with 21 points followed by Trey Thomas with 20 points off the bench.
