DECORAH, Iowa - The Loras College men's wreslting team turned in an impressive day of competition at the Luther Open, earning nine total placewinners across both the elite and freshman divisions.
Leading the way in the elite brackets,
Eric Kinkaid delivered the Duhawk's top finish of the day with a runner-up performance at 157 lbs, advancing to the finals and securing 2nd place.
Chase Fiser added a podium finish at 149 lbs, placing 3rd, while
Dustin Bohren matched that effort with a hard-fought 3rd-place finish at 174 lbs.
Loras also showcased its depth and future potential in the freshman division, highlighted by
Aidan Gruenenfelder, who dominated the 125-pound bracket to claim 1st place for his second tournament title on the season.
Three Duhawks earned 4th-place honors:
Owen Seffrood at 149 lbs,
Jake Hiland at 165 lbs, and
Boden Brokopp at heavyweight.
Rounding out the placers,
Aaron Boone took 5th at 141 lbs, and
Chris Wrage finished 5th at heavyweight.Â
